An encounter with a Tiger (Jake and possibly Ax)

Rowen was not happy, somebody had decided to take his backpack, which had all his stuff inside, of course. He should have taken that kid's advice about unpacking before his stuff disappeared. "Anyone know who took my bag?" Some kids looked like they had an idea, though they didn't really say anything. With nothing else to do, Rowen walked back into the dorms, only to be knocked to the ground by something big, and furry.

Jake crouched in the shadow of the slightly open closet, his tail flicking back and forth. He and Wayne were feeling a bit more mischievous today, now that they were well-settled. Unfortunately for the poor victim-to-be, they were feeling mischievous as a tiger. He wasn't a fully grown Siberian or anything, but tigers are still pretty large. And heavy. 
He quieted down and lowered himself as someone walked down the hallway. When the moment was right, he sprung, knocking the guy to the ground. 

"Rauwrrg," Jake said, feeling rather pleased with himself. The tip of his tail flicked in a friendly manner. "HFftff," he huffed in a friendly greeting, not getting off of the new guy yet.

With a tiger on him he attacked without thinking and burned the tiger in the eye. "Sorry, I didn't mean to burn you." Rowen helped the tiger up, since he figured it had been and accident. "There you go. My name's Rowen, nice to meet you."

Jake snarled and jumped back when his face was suddenly full of fire. He pawed against his muzzle.
"Arrowargh." 
This was supposed to be more like Hobbes, and less like Shere Khan. 


He sat up as the kid he pounced walked up to help him up. Apparently the fire kid was named Rowen. 
"Fftrafrrg."
